power outage

This week we have thought a lot about the 80's love song, "Don't know what you've got until it's gone." We are so thankful to have our power back. It is so easy to take all of our modern conveniences for granted. We are also so thankful for some of our dear friends who housed us during our power outage. They were one of the few families in the city who didn't lose power.
The kids were intrigued by all of the changes..."why is the refridgerator dark inside? why can't we watch cartoons? why can't I have oatmeal?" etc. They handled it all great and were excited to have a sleep over at the Yates' house.
